Prabal Has Arrived!

Thank you Target for delivering the goods much sooner than expected.

For a synthetic material, the shirt actually feels quite nice – much closer to a soft, faux silk than the typical scratchy polyester and therefore moves nicely. The buttons are hidden for a solid black line down the front – looks very sharp with the black collar. The mesh on the shoulders is a bit stiff but makes for a nice visual detail. The pattern truly is gorgeous – it is busier than I would normally wear but the symmetrical mirror image design + color palette + style of shirt works well together.

As for the shoes, the jury is still out on the wedges as I find them a little tricky to walk in (granted I can be heel challenged but the sole of the heel is so narrow, I don’t feel stable even that they are low). The flats on the other hand will get lots of wear. I do wish they took the faux leather a level up  – looks fairly good but not fooling anyone up close – however the metal details on the ankle, strap and heel give the shoes a sophistication + nice structure overall.

I can’t wait to bust these out at the first sign of Spring!

Prabal Gurung for Target

I chose not to brave the Chicago weather or crowds for the Prabal Gurung for Target launch and rather snatched up a few key pieces online:

In doing so, I did miss out on some items I had been eyeing from the LookBook which apparently sold out online and in stores in no time – the Shirt Dress in Nolita print and the Sweatshirt in First Date print which made its debut on Zoe Saldana a few days ago.

Based on the photos alone, I do prefer the gorgeous explosive + vibrant First Date print most of all so I’m happy to have secured the sleeveless top. And I hesitated between the different colors of the sandals and wedge but ultimately stayed true to form, opting instead for both in black, so as to keep the opportunity for color on my clothes and my toes.

As soon as my items arrive, I’ll report back with a full review!
